Fraser Place Serviced Residences Sets Up In Bangkok
11 May 2005 - Bangkok, Thailand

Located at upscale Langsuan Road, it offers convenient city living with a full suite of facilities to meet residentsf lifestyle needs

Singapore, 11 May 2005 – Business travellers can look forward to a full suite of lifestyle facilities when Fraser Serviced Residences opens its latest gold standard apartments in the Thai capital of Bangkok in July.

Managed by Fraser, Fraser Place Serviced Residences, Langsuan will feature 125 apartments, comprising studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units as well as luxurious penthouses. It is located along the prime Langsuan Road (Soi Langsuan), a popular expatriate residential area just off Phloenchit Road and in the city centre near Bangkok’s business nexus.

The apartments are within walking distance to up-market shopping centres like Central Chidlom and Gaysorn as well as great eating and entertainment outlets. The nearby BTS Skytrain stations (Ratchadamri and Chitlom) also facilitate easy access to transport for residents. What’s more, Fraser Place, Langsuan is near Lumpini Park – the largest public park in central Bangkok. This means residents enjoy lush greenery amidst the convenience of city living.

Besides its prime location, Fraser Place, Langsuan boasts a complete range of lifestyle facilities that will meet the needs of every member of the family.

Said Mr Choe Peng Sum, Chief Operating Officer of Fraser Serviced Residences, “Today’s astute business travellers want more than just a comfortable apartment to live in. Given their diverse lifestyle needs, expatriates want facilities and services that cater to all members of the family. This is exactly what Fraser Place, Langsuan will offer”.

For the busy executive, Fraser Place, Langsuan will feature The Retreat – Fraser’s award winning, experiential meeting facility. Designed to create a conducive environment for maximum work productivity, The Retreat combines state-of-the art meeting tools with the relaxing aura and pampering treatment of a spa.

All apartments also come with high-speed broadband Internet access and wireless networking is available in all common areas. A “home office” apartment set-up is also available to ensure residents are well-equipped when working from home.

For sports and fitness fanatics, the designer borderless sky pool high up on the 32nd storey will certainly be a main attraction. In addition, they can look forward to working up a sweat at the fitness gym and aerobics room. If playing a game is more their cup of tea, Fraser Place, Langsuan also offers a tennis court as well as a basketball court which are perched on top of a separate car park podium.

The little ones also have something to look forward to with Fraser’s very own Kid’s Club, complete with a fun children’s play area as well as interesting activities like art and craft sessions, excursions and a myriad of exciting programmes to keep them occupied. Fraser’s Kiddies Dream Package also allows parents to convert one bedroom into a kid’s dream room with printed bed linen, dining set, playtime table and chairs.

And while the kids are being entertained, mothers can take a break and pamper themselves at the Fraser Spa, complete with relaxing aromatherapy massages, stress-relieving treatments, sauna and Jacuzzi. Or if they need some quiet time to themselves, a private library lounge is available for them to get away from the hustle and bustle and catch up on their reading.

In addition to the lifestyle facilities, residents can also look forward to personalised housekeeping and baby-sitting services, laundry and dry cleaning, 24-hour security and concierge services, complimentary breakfast and shuttles to key city areas as well as special guest activity programmes catered to all in the family.

The opening of Fraser Place Serviced Residences, Langsuan comes at an opportune time as the booming Thai economy creates an inflow of expatriates on short- to medium-term assignments.

Thailand’s Finance Ministry forecasts that the economy will grow by 6.1 per cent this year, after posting 6.3 per cent growth in 2004. More importantly, the Ministry expects that this growth will be underpinned by a sharp increase in public and private investment, which is expected to rise by 19.7 and 16.6 per cent respectively.

According to Thailand’s Labour Department statistics, there are some 35,000 foreigners holding work permits in the country. This number looks set to rise with the positive investment outlook. Thai Prime Minister, Mr Thaksin Shinawatra, has also reiterated his vow to attract 20 million foreign tourists a year to Thailand by 2008 and is preparing to allocate 40 billion baht (US$1 billion) to make it happen.

“With the opening of Fraser Place Serviced Residences, Langsuan, Fraser is well-placed to take advantage of Thailand’s robust economic growth and aggressive plans to attract tourists and business travellers,” said Mr Choe.

Besides Langsuan, Fraser also operates Fisherman’s Village, a boutique resort in Thailand’s ancient royal fort town of Phetchaburi.

Voted one of the top 50 boutique resorts in Thailand’s “Unseen Paradise” by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Fisherman’s Village is just a 90-minute drive from Bangkok, and features 30 exclusive villas set in a private enclave fronting the Chao Samran beach. Rural, tranquil and traditional, Fisherman’s Village is the ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

"Fisherman’s Village is the perfect complement to Fraser Place at Langsuan,” enthused Mr Choe.

“Given the boutique resort’s close proximity to Bangkok, busy executives staying at Fraser Place can take their family for a short break there to recharge and rejuvenate.”

Over the past six months, Fraser has opened four new properties:
