We are currently have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our team at Capri by Fraser, Brisbane.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Sales (DOS), this role will play a proactive role in continuing to develop the hotel brand across key market segments including MICE, corporate and groups.

As the Business Development Manager your primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Undertake proactive sales activities including telemarketing, sales calls, famils, site inspections, appointments to identify new sources of MICE, group & corporate business
  • Liaise closely with DOS on all major event proposals and group enquiries.
  • Accurately report all sales activities in the appointed CRM system and achieve set KPIs 
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate accounts and maximise revenue potential
  • Responsible from event enquiry through to contracting in order to secure business and maximise revenue potential
  • Ensure all event proposals are actioned and attended to within 24 hours
  • Maintain up-to-date files to ensure proper co-ordination of sales commitment as well as customer needs
  • Have working knowledge of budget targets and work closely with DOS to develop strategies to achieve set targets
  • Prepare any other reports required by the DOS or General Manager  
  • Represent Capri Brisbane and Frasers Hospitality at industry events as needed

About You

The successful candidate will be required to possess the following attributes:

  • This role is not about sitting behind a desk completing reports, you are expected to be a proactive person, using your initiative, relationship management skills to source new opportunities and business for the hotel
  • Hotel operational experience or proven experience within a high performing sales department.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Competent Word, Excel, PowerPoint and software packages – experience with the Delphi conference sales program, Sugar CRM, Infor HMS would be an advantage
  • Strong organisational and time management skills  
  • An analytical mindset, team player and able to work independently
