If you’re looking for something to do with the little ones during your stay, head to one of Geneva’s many parks or playgrounds. The Parc des Eaux-Vives is a great option, with its large grassy areas perfect for picnics and games of frisbee. There’s also a heated outdoor pool which is open during the summer months – perfect for cooling off on hot days!
Geneva’s Old Town
For a taste of Geneva’s history, take a stroll around the Old Town. This is the city’s most atmospheric district, with its narrow streets and medieval buildings. Start at Place du Bourg-de-Four, the oldest square in Geneva, and wander through the labyrinth of streets until you reach Place du Molard. From here, you can admire stunning views of Lake Geneva and the Jet d’Eau fountain.
Make sure to stop for lunch at one of the many cafes and restaurants in the area – we recommend trying some of Geneva’s famous Swiss cheese!
Geneva Flower Clock
The Geneva Flower Clock is a must-see for families with kids. This unique clock is made entirely of flowers and is located in the Jardin Anglais (English Garden). The clock was first created in 1955 and has been rebuilt every year since. It’s a beautiful sight, and the perfect place to take a family photo!
Palais des Nations
If your kids are older, or interested in world affairs, a visit to the United Nations Headquarters is a must. This impressive building is located on the banks of Lake Geneva and is home to the United Nations Office at Geneva. Geneva’s Natural History Museum is the perfect activity for families, come rain or shine. The museum is home to an impressive collection of fossils, minerals and animals, as well as a planetarium and butterfly garden. Kids will love getting up close to the dinosaurs, and adults will appreciate the museum’s informative exhibits.
The Jet D’Eau
The Jet d'Eau is an excellent site to visit that will undoubtedly amaze the kids. The fountain is on the banks of the Lake Geneva, which empties into the Rhone River. The city's oldest fountain, this gigantic jet of water has graced the metropolis since 1886. It was not always a fountain, however. Originally constructed as a valve to relieve water pressure, it only became such a popular landmark later on.
Geneva Adventure Park
For a fun-filled day out, head to Geneva Adventure Park. This large outdoor park is located in the forest of Montorge and has something for everyone. There are hiking and biking trails for the adults, and a playground, trampoline park and petting zoo for the kids. Make sure to bring your camera – the views from the top of the park are incredible!

Geneva is also home to some of the best artisan chocolate makers in the world. Why not take a chocolate tasting tour and discover their secrets? The tours usually include visits to several different chocolatiers, as well as tastings of some of their finest creations. It’s a delicious way to learn about Swiss chocolate-making traditions and the kids are sure to love all of the sights, smells and tastes!
