Welcome 2020 at Mark Ronson’s Hogmanay in the Gardens
Stop me if you think that you’ve heard this one before, but we reckon this year’s Hogmanay is going to be the best Edinburgh has ever seen.
Why do we think it’s going to be so good? Because this year’s big show in Princes Street Gardens features an artist who arguably everyone has a song of theirs they enjoy.
Mark Ronson is going to send off 2019 and ring in 2020 in style. Some people even say it’s the biggest gig of 2020 (a bold statement), but for anyone making the journey here for the festivities, Fraser Suites Edinburgh has all the information you need about the event as well as where to stay this Hogmanay.
Where and when does Mark Ronson’s Hogmanay take place?
Mark Ronson’s Hogmanay takes place at Prince’s Street Gardens, just 300m from Fraser Suites Edinburgh.
Festivities kick off at 9 pm.
There are different ticket prices depending on what level you want.
Where is the entrance to Mark Ronson’s Hogmanay?
There are a few events taking place in the area that night, including the Ceilidh Under The Castle at the far end of the gardens.
The main entrance to the gig is at the bottom of the Mound, which is the curving hill just outside our doors. Pretty much everywhere from our front door on St Giles St, all the way downhill and around Princes St is the designated street party area.
Those with a ticket to the concert get a Hogmanay Street Party wristband by default.
Anything I need to know about the venue before going?
There are some important things to know about going to Mark Ronson’s Hogmanay, including:
Can I see Mark Ronson’s Hogmanay if I don’t have a ticket?
Just because you’re not front and centre of stage, it doesn’t mean you’ll miss out on all the fun. Screens are set up at various points in the area so everyone can join in with the fun. The closest screen to our hotel is just outside on the corner of Bank St and St. Giles St.
You will need to buy a street party ticket though. They cost £31.50 and can be purchased on the official site here.
Is there anything else on in the area?
Oh, there’s so much going on as long as you have a ticket/wristband to the street party. Head down to Prince’s St and all the streets in between it and Rose Street to see different stages with bands and DJs performing, going all the way along to Waverley Bridge.
A really fun idea, especially if you are one to dance all night long, is right beside Fraser Suites Edinburgh on Market St. It becomes one giant silent disco for a few hours of unbridled fun.
Last year anyone could rent a pair of headphones for £5 and join in, and we expect the same again this year.
