Frasers Hospitality, a strategic business unit of Frasers Property Limited, and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly advance the standards of Singapore’s hospitality industry. This strategic partnership will focus on collaborative efforts in education, professional training, and applied research across the hospitality and real estate sectors, including the co-establishment of a hospitality innovation think tank to identify new opportunities to enhance Singapore’s reputation as a premier tourism hub in the region.
Envisioned as a cohesive hub for industry and academia, the think tank will see both parties collaborate to define key hospitality standards and leveraging joint research to publish insights that contribute meaningfully to the ongoing evolution of hospitality standards.
“Frasers Hospitality’s MoU with SIT reflects our longstanding commitment to shaping the future of hospitality.” says Eu Chin Fen, Chief Executive Officer, Frasers Hospitality. “By combining academic expertise with real-world application, we are advancing new standards in guest experience, driving innovation that is both digital and sustainable, and nurturing the next generation of talent that will lead our industry into the future, while contributing to the advancement of industry practices and reinforcing Singapore’s position as a hub for hospitality excellence.”
“Equipping talent with future-ready skills is essential to sustaining and strengthening Singapore’s service excellence in hospitality,” says Bernard Nee, Deputy President (Industry & Community Group), Singapore Institute of Technology. “Through our partnership with Frasers Hospitality and the establishment of this innovation think tank, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of hospitality professionals who can drive innovation and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a rapidly evolving industry. By creating a dynamic platform for collaboration, the think tank will accelerate creative solutions and help transform ideas into actionable innovations that can shape the future of hospitality.”
In addition to research efforts, the collaboration will also see the co-design and development of Pre-Employment Training for budding hospitality students, alongside Continuing Education and Training programmes that empower all Frasers Hospitality employees to grow as future leaders and innovators in the industry. The lesson plans will focus on nurturing future-ready skills in hospitality and tourism management.
