Three properties to open in Cambodia as the group expands its Southeast Asian footprint, with six more new properties in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand
Frasers Hospitality, a member of Frasers Property Group, brings its signature design-led social living to Cambodia with the opening of Capri by Fraser, Phnom Penh on 3 April 2023. The first of three properties to launch in the kingdom, it will be followed by Capri by Fraser, City Centre Phnom Penh in 2025, and Fraser Residence Sen Sok, Phnom Penh in 2026. The openings are part of a greater push into Indochina and the Southeast Asian region, with six more new properties planned for Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
With its art and technology-led interiors and lively social spaces, Capri by Fraser, Phnom Penh plugs into the capital city’s thriving commercial and entertainment scene. Centrally located close to banks and major MNCs, the 88-room property also adds to the energy of Boeung Keng Kang 1, a thriving hotspot of trendy food & beverage (F&B) and entertainment that’s popular with expatriates and tourists.
True to the Capri by Fraser ethos, the urban hang-out caters to the lifestyle demands of the #SeriouslySocial demographic of tech-savvy millennial and Gen Z digital nomads. Capri by Fraser, Phnom Penh’s mix of studio and 1-bedroom serviced apartments meet the long-stay needs of business and leisure travellers, boasting breathtaking views of the city.
The design-centric and technology-led property also features Capri by Fraser’s trademark services and facilities such as The Den – a buzzing social hub for guests to chill out and network – as well as a state-of-the-art 24/7 gym, the novel Spin & Play self-service launderette, and a rooftop bar offering unblocked views of the bustling city centre.
Presence in Cambodia
Set to open in 2025, the 78-room Capri by Fraser, City Centre Phnom Penh offers stylish accommodation in the heart of the business district, just 2 minutes on foot to the famed Central Market, an Art Deco landmark in Phnom Penh. As its name implies, Capri by Fraser, City Centre Phnom Penh’s superb location in the heart of the city means it is within walking distance to government offices, embassies, shopping malls and a buzzing F&B scene.
In 2026, the 200-unit Fraser Residence Sen Sok, Phnom Penh will be a fresh addition to the fast-developing district of Sen Sok, on the northwest fringes of the city centre. Catering to mid- and upper-level corporate executives and their families, the property offers the privacy of serviced apartment living and the convenience of being in an integrated development with a retail mall, medical centre and office tower. Just a 15-minute drive to the central business district and industrial parks, it is also close to international schools, shopping malls and a golf course.
“We see strong growth potential in Cambodia as it ramps up its efforts to attract overseas investment through the signing of free trade agreements and introduction of measures to support businesses,” says Mr Mark Chan, Chief Operating Officer, Frasers Hospitality. “With the expected influx of business travellers, Frasers Hospitality is primed to tap into the
increased demand for long-stay accommodation across the different market segments. It supports our long-term plans for expansion into this region as we build on the trust that corporate travellers have in our brand.”
An eye on Indochina
Frasers Hospitality’s entry into Cambodia widens the group’s established presence in Indochina, following the December 2021 opening of Fraser Residence Hanoi – its third property in Vietnam after Fraser Suites Hanoi and Capri by Fraser, Ho Chi Minh City.
Fraser Residence Hanoi offers premium accommodation in the coveted Bac Tu Liem District – a high-end residential neighbourhood and diplomatic precinct. Located just 5 km from the city centre, the family-friendly property is in high demand for its accessibility and amenities including an international school, private hospital, parks and supermarket nearby.
In addition, Fraser Suites Hanoi unveiled a second tower in October 2021 – a new extension on Xuan Dieu Street with 96 sleek apartments outfitted with premium furnishings, luxurious bathrooms and branded toiletries.
The expansion – with exciting dining, leisure and live entertainment options in the West Lake district that includes a 72 sqm rooftop pool and private function venue – makes Fraser Suites Hanoi even more attractive as much sought-after accommodation for visitors and long-term residents in the Vietnamese capital.
New openings in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand
Southeast Asia will also see growth with the launch of new developments in Singapore, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Bangkok.
Coming up in August 2023 is Fraser Residence Promenade Singapore, which will deliver a unique waterfront lifestyle with heritage appeal in an exclusive location. Centrally located in Jiak Kim Street at the former Zouk site, the 72 serviced apartments in a mixed-use development heralds a new living experience that fosters social bonding and community spirit.
Meanwhile, the new Capri by Fraser, Penang will offer fresh and unique experiences for urban travellers in 2026. Its central location puts guests right on the fringe of the famed George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site, where museums, street art, bars and eateries are
all within walking distance. With Penang’s core business district nearby, work and leisure combine seamlessly for a memorable stay in one of Malaysia’s most exciting cities.
Fraser Residence Putrajaya also makes its debut in 2024, strategically located between Putrajaya and Cyberjaya for easy access to government offices and Malaysia’s Silicon Valley. Its 283 fully-furnished serviced apartments are part of an upmarket development with offices, retail outlets and schools nearby, and boast a stunning view of the picturesque Putrajaya Lake.
In Jakarta, Fraser Suites Kebon Melati and Capri by Fraser, Karet Kuningan are set to bring new lifestyle experiences to the Indonesian capital, with both luxurious and design-centric accommodation to cater to C-suite travellers and experience-seeking digital nomads.
The group will also add a second Fraser Suites in Bangkok, designed to bring luxury living to a whole new level for discerning long-stay guests.
“As we enter a post-pandemic era, Frasers Hospitality has stepped up its expansion in Southeast Asia to cater to the evolving requirements of both business and leisure travellers,” says Mr Chan. “We look forward to being part of this strong resurgence in travel, as we introduce new premium and mid-scale developments in the region’s key gateway cities.”
Frasers Hospitality, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2023, is expected to add more keys in Southeast Asia as part of its continued growth trajectory. The award-winning hospitality operator currently has more than 120 properties in over 70 cities in its global portfolio.
