What are the London NYE Fireworks?
They are the official event run by the London council that takes place on the south and north bank of the Thames with live fireworks on the stroke of midnight.
Where is the event located?
Pretty much both sides of the river are chock a block on the night, and specific zones are classified as being part of the event. Essentially anywhere from Lambeth Bridge up to Blackfriars bridge is part of the action. You can view a full map here.
How much do tickets for the fireworks cost?
There is a flat ticket price of £10 regardless of what zone you’ll be in. Your ticket only gets you access to your specific area and when buying tickets you’ll be told exactly where you’ll be.
When does it all kick-off?
Everyone doesn’t just rush down to the river at 11.45 to get a good spot. Things kick off from 9 pm with live music and DJs performing to the crowd.
How long do the London NYE fireworks last?
The official running time for the fireworks is 12 minutes from the stroke of midnight.
Will it be cold?
Oh yes! Even with everyone huddled together, the night is one of the coldest of the year. Anyone going should wrap up accordingly and get their thermals on too.
