UNDERWATER WONDERLAND
Opened in September 2019, Dive Bahrain can lay claim as the world's largest underwater theme park. Although new, there are big plans for the park starting with its initial attraction; a 70-metre-long decommissioned Boeing 747 which was prepared to protect the local ecosystem then submerged to create an artificial reef for the area's wildlife. The park will also include a full replica of a traditional pearl fisher's house for divers to explore, an underwater sculpture gallery and shipwrecks. MYSTERIOUS MANAMA
Manama could be considered the modern heart of Bahrain, but there's plenty of things to do when it comes to Bahrain's culture and history. AN ANCIENT LEGACY
Bahrain was one of the first regions to convert to Islam in the time of Muhammad. Its long and proud relationship with Islam can be seen in its impressive Islamic cultural sites, mosques and the Beit Al Quran, or 'House of Quaran' in the Hoora district, conveniently close to your serviced apartments in the Diplomatic Area. The Beit Al Quran houses an impressive collection of ancient and rare Qurans, the holy book of Islam, as well as Islamic artefacts and examples of Islam's unique flowing calligraphy. The Khamis Mosque, located west of Manama, is thought to be the oldest mosque in Bahrain with a heritage stretching back to the end of the 7th-century. Although in ruins, the site is immaculately preserved and you can almost feel the history swirling around you.
