The Best Sights in Berlin in Winter 2020/21

Some cities may say they take the festive season seriously, but there’s nowhere that does it quite like Berlin. We adore Winter, and it shows when you come to visit our city at this time of year.

Here are some of the seasonal highlights in the city as well as some of the top events taking place across Berlin this Winter.

Vienna Johann Strauss Concert Gala

Since 1996 Matthias Georg Kendlinger's export hit "Made in Austria" has captivated more than 1 million fans in 19 European countries - a true cult status for this beautiful music!

The Berlin Cathedral

Climbing to the top of the Berlin Cathedral is the easiest way to see the German capital from up high - they have stunning 360° views of the city's skyline. And what’s more, the basilica’s beautiful intricate interior is reason alone for a visit - and there’s a treasure hunt for any curious children!

Casual Concerts at Salon Christophori

For a cosy evening, the Piano Salon (Salon Christophori) is perfect. The shop floor - scattered with tools and pieces of old pianos, is utterly charming - you can enjoy informal workshops and musical recitals in the unique atmosphere.

Walk around Teufelsberg

From the time of the Cold War, this US listening station sits at the top of a hill of rubble - the perfect way to sightsee, and take in this unusual piece of history.

Try a Street-Food Classic: Currywurst

As well as the dozens of upscale eateries, Berlin is famous for its roadside food trucks. A particular favourite of the locals is currywurst - a steamed, then fried, sliced sausage served with a curried ketchup. A must try.
