The Reichstag offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the capital. It is the second most visited site in Germany, due in large part to its striking glass dome, designed by English architect Sir Norman Foster.

The Berliner Dom, or Berlin Cathedral, is a wonderful example of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Its colourful interior is filled with extraordinary mosaics depicting the Sermon on the Mount. Bear in mind that the Cathedral opens at noon on Sundays.

The Berliner Fernsehturm, or Berlin TV Tower, is the tallest building in all of Germany and offers an unrivalled view of the city thanks to its famous revolving restaurant. 

The Brandenburg Gate is one of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks, symbolising the reunification of East and West Germany following the Cold War. We advise that you visit in the evening, after a long day spent exploring the city: visiting at night is a real treat.

The best parks in Berlin

Berlin is home to more parks than any other European city. The city’s most famous park, the Tiergarten, is home to the Bismarck Memorial,runs alongside a number of landmarks, including the Brandenburg Gate, and extends to some 520 acres.

If you can’t quite squeeze in a visit to the magnificent Charlottenburg Palace, we advise that you pay a visit to its exquisite baroque garden. With its rose gardens, symmetrical grounds, mature trees and carp pond, it’s the perfect place to go for a stroll or unwind on a summer’s day.
